My story is our story.
I am the daughter of a fifth generation Texan father and a Filipino immigrant mother. Both my parents worked two jobs each to provide housing, food, and healthcare for my family. I know what it's like to desire something better for my community - something better for Texas. Now, I am running for Texas House District 112 to ensure that every family and child can believe that everything here truly is bigger and better.
I was born and raised in McKinney, Texas. I attended Title 1 schools in Prosper ISD, a small, rural town at the time (Prosper's population was only 3,000 in 2003). I saw first hand how lawmakers in Austin failed my teachers and classmates. I became the first in my family to graduate college and SMU law school (J.D.) so I could advocate for safer schools, affordable healthcare, and all generations of Texans. As Miss Texas, I traveled more than 60,000 miles and taught over 100,000 students to celebrate our differences and respect the many cultures of our Lone Star state.
For me, my American dream starts with ensuring free, quality education and accessible women’s healthcare for all. We’ve been pushed into tribalistic silos by a broken two-party system that stops us from finding real solutions to the issues that hold us all back. I’m here to challenge that status quo, work across party lines, and create a future where everyone has the equitable opportunity to build a life they’re proud of. My American Dream is to pave the way for the next generation—so my children and your children can thrive in a world we all helped to shape.
My dream is our dream.
